WHY ISN’T MY ZOOM AVATAR MOVING WHEN I DO?

Luckily, this one is easy.

You’ve likely made your way here because you’ve discovered the joy of using an avatar during Zoom meetings, but yours isn’t moving. Sure, it will blink, but not when you blink. Ocassionally, the avatar’s eyebrows will raise, but not when you raise yours. Frustrating, yes. Important? I say, “Yes!”

This is an easy fix. Simply click the video icon. Don’t worry, Zoom won’t suddenly switch on your camera view and show the whole meeting that you haven’t even brushed your hair yet and you’re still in PJs. Turning on your video camera while using your avatar just allows the avatar to move with you. When you sway, your avatar will. When you smile, so will your avatar!
