Spa Shiki, named the #1 spa in Missouri and #5 spa in North America by Spas of America, wanted a website look unlike any of their competitors. Susan Brown, other members of the Brown family (ownership) and lead Spa Shiki team members had a specific vision involving their beautiful koi pond and Japanese garden-themed décor as inspiration. Our designers built on this foundation with dramatically deep and clear imagery to supplement their professional photos, which the our team photoshopped to darken and deepen these photos to fit the zen feel required. Borders between sections and images were removed not only as a design feature, but also as a symbolic way to represent a serene, barrier-free flow between the outdoors and indoors and between a person and their wholistic wellness.

The mobile-responsive custom website build took a little over a month from design approval to launch date. We organized navigation by what pages were most popular on the old site and our assessment of the old site’s user experience on a desktop computer, tablet and a phone using various browsers and browser settings as well as taking into consideration which screens (resolution) are most commonly used by the general public in Spa Shiki’s geographic area. Finally, as we were also handling hosting, website ongoing maintenance/security and SEO, the website was equipped with strong back-end SEO capabilities.
